In the early 1970s, founder Donna De Garcia journeyed to Puebla, Mexico to study Latin American culture. Falling deeply in love with the rich heritage of Taxco sterling silver jewelry, she brought back a passion for exquisite Mexican silversmithing that would forever shape her path.
After years living in Mexico and developing relationships with talented artisans, Donna began importing both contemporary and vintage Taxco designs into the U.S. market. The handcrafted silver jewelry, prized for its authenticity and bold craftsmanship, was carried by upscale retailers like Nordstrom, I. Magnin, and various museum shops. But in 1993, Donna made a pivotal decision: she returned to her roots and opened Blanca Flor Silver Jewelry, a flagship boutique in downtown Annapolis, MD across from the historic Market House.Visit Ann

Blanca Flor’s essence is rooted in family legacy. Donna’s daughter, Sofia Garcia, was raised amid sterling silver treasures and global design inspiration. Today, the two travel together—exploring regions such as Taxco, the Southwest U.S., Greece, Indonesia, Poland, and more—to seek out unique sterling silver designers and artisan silversmiths. Each piece they bring home is hand-selected and thoughtfully curated for its cultural story, exceptional craftsmanship, and distinctive design.
